Small Business Overwhelm is a real thing, it will affect you at some point. There are lots of things you can do to beat overwhelmed in your business. I’ve put together a few ideas on how you can put a few simple steps in place to make your life easier and remove some of the easiest blocks in your business.
So this involves spending some time at the beginning to automate all the systems that you can. So if you work with associates make sure you’ve got contracts, welcome letters and an on boarding pack ready. Then you literally just have to pass it all over and that’s the job done.
If you have people buying products from you, set up an automation on your mailing list so that soon as I purchased they get a thank you email, a few days later they get another email introducing you and your work. Then you can have another email may be a week later inviting them to do something.
2. Take time out
Now this doesn’t have to be weeks at a time or lying on the sofa in a blanket. Literally half an hour to make a cup of coffee each day and then to sit with that coffee and drink it will help. Nobody need you to be working 24 seven, you will burn out quicker than a candle!
Try meditation or book a treat at the end of the month in work time that say you have a massage or your nails done. You didn’t go into your business to not reap any rewards, they don’t have to be big but they do need to be meaningful to you.
3. Get a business buddy
You don’t have to be best friends but it’s helpful if you connect with someone in a similar position. So someone who also runs a small business and knows the pitfalls. This allows you to bounce ideas off each other, encourage each other when things get bad and help you get out of bed in the morning!
3. Create a feel good book
Collate all of your testimonials, nice things people have said about you and also things you feel you’ve done well. Put these all in a little binder or on your computer. Look at them when things get tough.
Also reach out to other people and give them positive feedback, collaborate with people and network.
4. Create a vision board
Now you don’t have to be woo woo for this. A vision board, so a board with all pictures of things you want or goals you have or ideas of things you want to achieve, will help you when overwhelm strikes. Just remembering what are you doing it and who for is a big incentive to get a new over the dip.
5. Don’t give up
When overwhelm strikes the first thing a lot of us do is down tools and give up. You may have been marketing your business for ages and although you’re getting good stats you may not feel it’s enough. But the thing is just when you go through a dip is when some people are just starting to take notice of you so keep going.
