Thanks for reaching out and by now I’m assuming you are either thinking of working with a virtual assistant in the future or have some tasks you want to pass over now.

So I thought I’d let you know some of the questions I often get asked and hopefully it might help you too…

What is a Virtual Assistant?

Lots of people ask me how it all works –

I work virtually with small business owners to alleviate some of the stressful tasks from their lives. So anything from diary management to designing printables and all the way to updating web copy and blogging (this is my specialty).

I have a home office and I’m available from 9.30am – 3pm most days but it is very flexible. When I start working with a client I agree how long a task will take and when I’ll be available. I have secure filing cabinets dedicated to my clients and everything is password protected. I have Insurance and am part of the Information Commissioners Office for data protection (annual fee paid).

All work is done online (unless otherwise agreed). I can save documents to your preferred location so somewhere like Dropbox or Google Drive.

Passwords can be sent via apps such as Lastpass and if I’m looking after your Facebook page or social media then just make me an admin.

I’m a very tech savvy VA so I know most programs and if I don’t then I’ll learn them quickly to support you. If it’s your in-house system then training would need to be provided and this would be chargeable.

How Do I contact you?

I predominately work via email – so you’d send over whatever task it was you wanted completed (we would have an initial consultation where you provide me with passwords and I find out how you like to work). I then acknowledge the work and tell you when it will be completed by. So usual turnaround is 48 hours but if it’s urgent then I can let you know at the time how quickly it will be processed.

I can use WhatsApp if you have a team and I also support some businesses using Trello and other team management systems.

I’m also available for catch up meetings either via telephone or Zoom video.

When is payment due?

Initially when working with someone I will ask for payment after two weeks and then after the first month we revert to the end of month. If you choose to go on a retainer then this is paid in advance of the month so I can allocate the set hours you need.

Can we get started?

As soon as we are both happy that I’m the right fit for your business, I will send you a non-disclosure agreement (this protects both of us) and my terms and conditions. I ask that you send an email by return confirming you are happy to proceed. We will confirm deadlines and how you want the work sent to you.
